OUR ENVIRONMENTAL PLEDGE

CARBON NEUTRAL. NET ZERO BY 2050.

Sustainability is embedded in the way we operate. Key Health is a carbon neutral organisation, committed to reducing the environmental impact of our activities while delivering high-quality services to UK healthcare organisations.

Our ISO 14001-certified environmental management system provides a structured framework for measuring, managing and reducing our environmental impact. We are continually looking for ways to minimise our footprint from improving operational efficiency and reducing waste to adopting more sustainable working practices.

We recognise the important role suppliers play in supporting the NHS and the sustainability ambitions of the wider healthcare sector. That's why environmental responsibility informs  our decision-making, investment planning and continuous improvement.

Our goal is to achieve Net Zero by 2050. Our ongoing initiatives help reduce emissions, improve resource efficiency and contribute to a more sustainable future for healthcare.

OUR CARBON REDUCTION PLAN

Key Health is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 at the latest, covering our UK operations and our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions against a 2024/25 baseline. Our plan is prepared by Carbon Footprint Ltd, signed off by our board and reviewed every year.

A reduction of 8.48 tCO₂e in one year

Where our emissions come from

We have no Scope 1 or 2 emissions: we run no company vehicles, and our leased Swindon office’s energy is controlled by the landlord. In 2025/26 our footprint was made up of:

  • Business travel in employees’ own vehicles: 56%
  • Employee commuting and homeworking: 32%
  • Energy use at our leased office: 11%

How we’ll get to Net Zero

  • Travel: cutting business mileage and helping staff move to electric vehicles and lower-carbon commuting
  • Premises: seeking zero-carbon heating and renewable electricity, with renewable electricity at our office by 2030 and zero-carbon premises by 2050
  • Supply chain: measuring purchased goods, services and capital goods from 2026/27 and engaging key suppliers on their emissions
